So it looks like Amazon’s trying to get in on the subscription fiction market with their new Kindle Vella program, and it felt like a good idea to have something ready to go when the gates opened. So here we are! I’m proud to introduce THE SOUL SMUGGLER CHRONICLES, an angels-vs-demons story with a dumpster fire of a protagonist and a healthy smattering of swears.
I’ll be very interested to see what kinds of readers gravitate toward this program. It may be that this is exactly the wrong kind of content for Vella, but only time will tell. I’m also fascinated by Amazon’s decision to only have Vella available on their website and the iOS Kindle app, but not on Android or their own Kindle e-readers. I presume a decent amount of market research went into that decision, and I’d have loved to be a fly on the wall during those meetings.
